Creating and implementing a custom training program allowed the owners to finally step away from the business’s day-to-day operations. They went from dealing with petty problems to working four days a week and taking seven-plus days of vacations.
New Moon Beginnings is a manufacturer of gifts, jewelry, and candles that focus on the spirituality and focusing power of crystals. It has a dedicated team that cares about the mission but lacks the skills to achieve the company’s goals.

Our primary objective was to create a replicable process for training and developing the middle management tier of the organization. To this end, we focused on addressing skill gaps, documenting processes, and improving them.

Our process began by mapping the organization’s structure goals and evaluating the management team. We focused on the core processes and the management skills needed to execute them. To address the issue, we started 8 weeks of management training in several core areas, from process design to behavior management.
Afterward, we switched the focus to developing the tools the organization needs to succeed, from creating project planning and implementation management to a formal employee review process. As a result of our effort, the company is now focused on solving problem and developing tools.
results
The big turning point was we weren’t able to or felt like we had difficulty stepping away or leaving our business for more than a few days, maybe a week. We just wanted to have some structure and give our managers tools to help them execute their jobs so we can focus on growth.
Since completing the program as a company, we’ve become more confident in our process. We now have employees who engage in creating solutions for our business. As a team, we now focus on solutions. We went from telling people to improve to focusing on how we, as a team, can solve the problems.
